In a groundbreaking partnership, Qcells, the US’s largest silicon-based solar panel factory, has joined forces with SOLARCYCLE to revolutionize solar panel recycling.
This collaboration, a first of its kind in the United States, aims to reintegrate recycled materials such as aluminum, silver, copper, silicon, and low-iron glass back into the domestic supply chain for the production of the next generation of clean energy products.
SOLARCYCLE's patented recycling technology claims an impressive 95% extraction rate of value from solar modules, surpassing the industry standard. Qcells, with an 8.4 gigawatt production capacity in its Dalton, Georgia facility, is a leader in clean energy manufacturing. The company's $2.5 billion investment in a complete solar supply chain, including a new facility in Cartersville, Georgia, reinforces its commitment to sustainable practices.
This partnership not only signifies a significant advancement in solar panel recycling but also highlights the industry's collective effort to address end-of-life challenges. SOLARCYCLE, already in partnership with over 40 major solar energy companies, is playing a key role in promoting sustainability within the growing solar energy sector.
